Hi everyone, I'm really happy to find this website, indeed you guys are big help less or more advise to the kababayans in this site.
Pls hear my story and doubts:

I'm planning to go home on Dec. 2011 to get marry to my 6 yrs bf but I'm still on my LIC working visa that time though my 24 months will be completed this coming Oct. 2011, my working permit will expire on january 2012 but I already talked to my employer about it and they said they're keeping me until I'm still happy to work for them. For now I'm waiting for my renewed passport so I would be able to renew my contract to them.
My questions:, should I process my papers after the wedding or should I process my papers before I go home and get married? They said that immigration will question me abt. me getting married when my papers is on process. I arrived Canada October of 2008, and I'm scared going home and getting married wld. affect my application for OWP and PR since my 4yrs will be up next year I don't want to go back zero again and honestly I'm scared they're going to send me home as we all know our economy is not that good. And how true is it, that there is a new proposal for husband sponsorship that you can get them after 2yrs.?

Please advise me, thank you so much. God bless.

If you can not apply until October and you are marrying the bf in December, it makes sense to me to wait with the papers until after you get married. However, applying in October and then sending an update to say that you are married will also work. Maybe it will delay your application a bit.

If you do not want to include the boyfriend in your application but you want to sponsor him later, then you can not marry him until after you get your PR. According to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-other.asp it takes 12-13 months to get an OWP and another 15 after that to get PR.
