Hello,

I am from Nigeria, I got accepted to Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC for September 2016 admission .. I would be coming to Canada in July.

Please I need to make arrangement for my accommodation before I arrive. I do not know the right areas that would be close to my school, or where to start my search from. I need your advice in order for me to have an idea of the right location to look into and also, websites I could look into to view listing of various accommodations.

I would appreciate any assistance I can get from y'all.

Thank you :-*

Haven't you check the off campus housing list at the university's website?

Here's the link:

Thank you for replying.

yes I have... but my accommodation preference isn't available there.

If you haven't already found housing there are is student housing on campus and plenty of apartments located near campus on Wakesiah Avenue.

Harewood is an area to possibly avoid. North Nanaimo is far nicer than the area around the campus, but the downside is, you're much further away from the school. However, there is 15 minute bus service from Woodgrove Mall to the campus.

You can always look for rooms on Kijiji/Craigslist.
