I need to maintain legal status while waiting for a family class sponsorship application to process.

Hello

I have submitted a family class sponsorship application, and I want to apply for a visitor record to maintain legal status. Some possibly useful information about me:
-I have been in Canada since July 10th 2019.
-I am currently living in Canada with my husband.
-I currently have a valid visitor record that expires in late November. However, I did not apply for it online. It was issued to me at the border when I informed them that we were working on a family class sponsorship application.

Since my visitor record will expire soon, I am trying to apply for a new one online, but I am having trouble actually getting to the online application to fill it out and submit it. I followed the instructions on the website and logged in, but there is no option to start an application to extend my stay, and going back to the page that gives me instructions and details about the visitor record just logs me out. Does anyone else have this issue or can anyone give me a link to the online application? With some googling I was able to find the PDF to open up in acrobat and print/mail, but I would definitely prefer to submit it online if possible.

Select "Visit" as your purpose and "Temporarily - more than 6 months" as your length, "Canada" as your current country of residence, current status in Canada as "Visitor". It should lead you to the online extension application which you can link to your account.
