Hi everyone,

This is Mohammad. I graduated from 2-year diploma program and will apply for my PGWP on July. I don't know for how long CIC will give me work permit because it says on their website that, you may be eligible for a 3-year work permit if you finished a course which is 2-year or more. Here is my question, "I have my passport valid till 2018 January. Is that will create any affect of my work permit duration due to the current passport expiry date? I am just confused because to my sense work permit is a separate page which they will give me based on my diploma and I have to get a TRV based on that. So I just wanted to know the answer if anyone knows the answer.

1. You won't get PGWP beyond your passport validity. You have option to get remaining PGWP with a new passport.

Hi JM5,

That means if I apply now, they will give me a 2-year work permit instead of 3 year permit right? But what do you mean by I have the option to get remaining PGWP on new passport? Could you please elaborate? I appreciate that you took the time for giving an answer.
