im a female jordanian currently living in jordan. im considering seeking asylum based on sexual orientation in canada. the problem is i cant provide proves that i have ties back home to the embassy thats why they wont give me a visitors visa. can i just tell them the truth?

If you tell them that you want to claim asylum in Canada then you definitely will not be issued a visitor visa to Canada. To be approved for a visitor visa to Canada you must prove that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

It is possible to claim refugee status from outside of Canada. However in order to do so, you must first be recognized as a refugee by UNHCR or a similar organization and I believe you also must be residing outside of your home country.
