Apologies for the wordy title.

As I said, I moved out here from the UK at the end of last year on a working Visa. I had some savings, so for the first 4-5 months I was here I wasn't looking for work, I was really just holidaying and visiting relatives. I ended up finding a job about a month ago and just assumed that because I had zero income last year and the tax year runs from Jan to December I wouldn't have to file a tax return.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

You don't have to file a 2019 return.
