I am a Canadian by birth, have resided in the US for 4 years now. My husband is a US citizen and we are talking about moving back to my home in the maritimes. Can we still both reside in the US and keep working till his paperwork is complete or do I have to go home first? We may have a lead on a job for him but nothing concrete yet. We just can't afford to have me living there and him living here and trying to cover expenses in two households. We do not have any children, just the two of us. We spent a close to two years apart when we were doing the paperwork to get me here and don't want to go through that again. Its very hard on a relationship. Any info would be greatly appreciate. Thank you! :)

As a Canadian you can sponsor a spouse while residing outside Canada. You just have to include a statement that once your spouse is issued a visa you will accompany him/her to Canada. It should also outline what steps you have taken as to accommodation/employment/schooling.
