I filed for PR in March-2013. Today (1-Jan-2014) I landed!

To those waiting, right now it feels amazing! I now have a home in Canada with my family! It is such a new chapter, so many possibilities!

Haven't landed yet, but I agree about the board's helpfulness. We started to pay for someone to assist us (not a lawyer, I've forgotten what exactly--some kind of "facilitator", but expensive anyway) paid the first thousand $...and hubby found this site and said forget it, we aren't using that guy, and voila! It worked! We did it ourselves, but with your help :-*

What did you apply for? Inland or Outland?

I applied outbound, but moved prior to landing. I was granted a temporary resident visa in August 2013. It would have expired in February.

In retrospect I should have applied for an open work visa at the same time as my PR.

you can only apply for an open work permit at same time as applying for PR if you apply Outland .

I think you meant inland. There is no OWP for outland applicants.

Congratulations on your landing. As an Outland applicant you were not eligible for an OWP but now that you are landed, you don't need it. Welcome to Canada and best wishes.
