I just received my nomination certificate. Should I apply for PR immediately?

My biggest concern is that I have not yet applied for my PCC from India yet. I understand that I can mail in my PR application without the PCC yet, and can send it across once it is requested. I am planning on going to India in August to get my PCC directly.

How long does it typically take before CIC requests me to send in my PCC? And does my PCC have to be mailed immediately once I get the request? I am concerned as to how long it might take to get the PCC in India, as I have heard horror stories.

You better apply for PR right away & send the PCC afterwards as it is not mandatory to send it along initially.

Why do you have to go to India to get your PCC? You can apply to any Indian Consulate for your Indian PCC.

Do you know how long it would take through BLS in Toronto? My issue is I need my passport back in my hands by end of August, and the earliest I can send my passport to BLS would be end of July...giving me 4 weeks. I've read horror stories in this forum about how it might take well over that, and I can't afford to be in limbo. Am I being unnecessarily paranoid?

I was thinking I could make a quick trip to Bangalore and get the PCC there directly...but then again, I don't know how long that might take, and what the process is. This PCC stuff makes me very worried.

I can't comment about others but I got my PCC within the time limit they show on their website. I got it approx. in 5 weeks.

UR parents can get it done on ur behalf just writing a application to the concerned police station or SSP office. I did this way n they got the certificate within a week and couriered it to me from india.

My issue is that I do not have any immediate family living in Bangalore (or India, for that matter)...but can you tell me what exactly type of documents you used, and what your family did to get your PCC processed?

I have a cousin in a different city...so I was thinking maybe I could ask him to get the PCC for me without my presence in India.
