I just need some help understanding what's going on with my application

Hi,
I've had an application for a study permit extension in processing since January 22nd. It's been stuck on the background check part with eligibility not even started for several months now.
I got GCMS notes via an ATIP request today and it shows this which I'm not sure how to interpret:
FINALIZE APPLICATION

DOCUMENT ISSUANCE: 1

Document: Permit - SP-EXT / Permis - PE-PROR

Status: Cancelled

My application isn't rejected and this "cancelled" thing is there since March since it shows the last update for the section to be march.

+ I've uploaded some additional documents over the summer and sent change of address requests

It says cancelled so rejected or withdrawn. If showing since March have you not called IRCC to find out why it was cancelled. Have you left Canada?

I haven't left Canada, also it can't be actually rejected yet since I'm on maintained status and if it was rejected/withdrawn I'd already have a removal order against me by now I think-
Also yeah I've called them 2 times

Why would you have a removal order? So you called 2 times so what did they say. Ask a lawyer because you say eligibility hasn't started.

What I meant is that if it was withdrawn since March I'd have been out of status for several months
Also, not sure if eligibility actually hasn't started or is it's just my gckey not updating, here's what I have from the actual gcms notes that I can see relating to it

I wasn't told by IRCC that my application is non routine or whatever so idk if it's just that the application is delayed because I sent additional documents they have to verify. They said they sent a note to the processing office though

When you called IRCC call centre what did they say? Why would it be non routine? Get a lawyer for advice since eligibility is blank and application says cancelled.

Yes, if cancelled then you have been out of status for a while.

They said they can't tell me exactly why the application is delayed but will send a note to the processing office.
On gckey the application shows that it's submitted and not rejected so yeah.
I've seen that an application being non-routine might be an explanation if it's delayed for a long time before.
Might just get a lawyer, I hope they didn't forget the application exists or something
