Hand written should be ok. Just say that you have submitted SSLC certificate with DOB and parent name since you don't have birth certificate.

Hi ttrajan

I do not have a leaving certificate. How ever I have a certificate that says

ALL INDIA SECONDARY SCHOOL EXAMINATION 1997

THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT (MY NAME) ROLL NUMBER (XXXX) SON OF (ZZZZ) BORN ON (MM/DD/YY) HAS PASSED THE SECONDARY SCHOOL EXAMINATION OF THE BOARD HELD IN MARCH 1997 FROM XXXX SCHOOL

IN THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS X Y Z

Do you think this is more than enough with a covering letter, or do I have to go and get leaving certificate??

Hi guys

I am from India and I do not have a birth certificate.

What document do I need to send to confirm my date of birth?

Do I also need to include any covering letter, explaining why I dont have birth certificate?
If you have time get a Non availability certificate (NAC) from the municipal corporation or the registering authority in the town where you were born. It is a fool proof document if you don't have a BC. Along with it you should attach a self affidavit for your birth and if possible a high school certificate/marks sheet having your name, DOB and any one/both parents' name. ATB

Hi thanks for the reply. Really appreciate it. I have some more questions :)

1>whats ATB?

2>I am really running out of time. So should I can I just include a high school certificate + affidavit for DOB and place of birth.

3>Also do these affidavit have to be on stamp paper and if yes what denomination??

4> and what ever photocopies we do for any documents, do they have to be attested??

- Photocopies do not require attestation if they are in English and/or French.
- The format of affidavit that the Notary public provides you with are acceptable. There are no specific denominations required.
- Submit your SSC Certificate with an affidavit and you should be fine.
- For any confusions please go through the FSW Application Guide and the CIC document checklist in detail. This will help you when you proof read your docs before final submission.

Hi.

I Do not have a SSLC (Secondary school leaving certificate), I just have a certifcate which says that I have passed my 10th standard with my DOB and my fathers name and the list of subjects.

So is it necessary to have SSLC. If it is how do I apply to get a new one or a copy and how long will it take to get the copy of the SSLC.

It will suffice.
