Hi,

When I submitted my Citizenship application, I provided a copy of my IELTS results which have been expired for 3 years, I previously had submitted the original for my PR application, now with my upcoming test on Aug 1st I realized that I don't have an original with me. Is this going to be an issue? if so, what can I do?

I also submitted a copy of the transcript of a Post-graduate diploma I took on Seneca College here in Canada, I do have the original of that document, would it be good enough?

Its ok should not be an issue. I had the same issue.

What I did was I took my original diploma certificate with me in case if the officer asks. They never asked me for original IELTS mostly because they know that we don't have original IELTS with us as we submitted original with PR application.

Do the same and you should be fine.

Write a letter informing that the original was used for the PR process and
send a copy of your test results with your citizenship application, even if the results have expired.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general training (not the academic version) must have scores of:
    • 4.0 or higher in speaking and
    • 4.5 or higher in listening (if the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a 4 or higher)

Thanks for the replies, I already applied for Citizenship and I have the test in 2 days. I'll bring a copy of the results and prepare an explanation to the officer in case they ask me.
