I couldn't pay online cause the address line can't fit my entire address!!

So I just tried to pay the $1040 fee online and there is no way I can fit our entire address in the address line! We are in USA. So it said transaction not approved and number to call. Can I pay it over the phone?? why do they make such a small space to fit the address??

I just tried mine, and it is too long to fit!!! Why! Why! So what, I can't pay online now??? Major hassle!!

My dad has offered to pay the fee - he's in Canada and his address fits. Would that be okay??!!!

Hmm...someone else will have to help you there, my husband paid ours. From the copy he scanned and sent me, our address didn't print on the form, he wrote it in by hand along with our names and DOB. Have you tried not putting in the address?

FS, your dad can pay, yes. He just needs to give the correct email address for it to go to so you get it, and you need to fill in the details.

yea you guys need to pay online, its so much quicker. I didnt have this issue, I also suggest try leaving it blank, or Monday call CIC and ask them what to do!!! LOL *can I just say i feel bad for you 2 above^^^^^^^^ because I know you both are so paranoid*

i think they talk abt the address which has to match the credit card address right? that's the only address u need to put when u pay online....the other, as Charlie said will b filled in by hand together with the sponsor details....i didn't have any issue cuz my credit card is Canadian one and with it i had to write my Canadian address....on the receipt i filled in the current address, outside Canada

FS yes ur dad can pay for u, but then in the receipt u need to put ur details with ur address

I tend to do that when faced with life and death decisions...as I take this very, very seriously!!! If something were to go wrong, I'd go crazy here in China...which would lead to an early death...something I'd like to avoid...actually, I am not usually this "paranoid"...only for this...my future is hanging in the balance...

You could try shortening your address in your credit card or bank account - temporarily so it matches.

I encountered the same problem, but I just entered in as much as possible and it did go through. Actually, at first the transaction wouldn't go through and I thought it was because I couldn't fit my entire address in. But it was actually because my credit card company was denying the charge as it was over 1000 and foreign lol (they thought it was fraud). So, phone your cc company and make sure it isn't being denied for another reason.

Once I got that fixed, I tried again with inputting my partial address and it worked fine.

Canadiangirl, that is a genius idea...i'm going to try shortening my address a little...Fencesitter, when are you planning to send off your application?? I was hoping for Fri last week and now it's monday...but if i can't pay this thing onlline, it's going to suck!! but go online and see if you can shorten your address so it can temporarily match...i'm seriously going to try this later and let you know if it works!!!

About being paranoid, I am about this cause I've honestly been waiting for over 10 years to move back to Canada! Eversince I moved here after the first year I really wanted to move back to Canada, but ofcourse not without my husband. We both made it a goal to move back and every year we were telling our friends and family in Canada that we will be moving back in a couple of years and it never happened. Even this time my brother is iffy if we really will move back but this time it's for real cause we actually did the immigration papers this time. We also couldn't move before cause my husband had to help his father's family business, but it finally got sold 2 years ago and now we are free to move where we want. I want to move back to Toronto soo bad!!! It is like a different life over there than over here....one i like much much better. So i feel like, if we couldn't move back to Canada, where are we going to move to in the States? New york would be best in terms of a big city cause that is what we want, but we have no family or friends there.

I'm going to shorten my address temporarily on line banking first and if that doesn't work i'll call my bank tomorrow, thanks.

Tried to shorten it, didn't work...in my online banking address change section, after i shortened it, it said this address can't be found in our system and they recommened my original address...so can't change it.
