I cannot get into the extress entry pool because of the PNP application

I submitted a PR application through PNP program in July 2019. Now I want to try my luck in the express entry pool. However, the system does not allow me to get into the pool. The following information is from the system.
Error Description: You already have an in progress application.
Does anyone know how to deal with this error?

You already have an application in progress under PNP - so you cannot apply again.

If you want to apply through Express Entry directly, you would need to withdraw / cancel your PNP application.
