Please i and my family need assistance to seek asylum in Canada.we are from cameroon and presently not in canada .we wish to apply as refugees in canada.i am presently in Rwanda but my family is in cameroon and very unsafe.please any assistance. +250785148018

You cannot apply for asylum in Canada directly.

To apply for asylum in Canada directly, you would need to obtain TRVs (tourist visas), travel to Canada, and then claim asylum once you are here.

If you are not able to get TRVs and trave to Canada, There are a few different options. If you have family or close friends who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and are willing to sponsor you for PR through the Group of Five sponsorship program, then this is one option you can choose. Before you can be sponsored, you will need to be officially recognized as refugees by UNHCR in Rwanda.

You can also try to find an organization in Canada who is willing to sponsor you and is a Sponsorship Agreement Holder. This is generally very difficult to do since most of these organzations are no longer accepting new sponsorships. You can find a list of these organizations here:

A lawyer cannot help you with this. You need to find a sponsor on your own.
