I am in Canada on a 2 year work visa which expires on 19th November 2009.... I came to Canada with my teenage son to live with my partner whom i had met here whilst on holiday 4 years ago. Our inland sponsership and my PR application was sent on Setember 23rd 2009. To date, we have heard nothing. So i have a few questions if i may ask...
What is eCas??....i see that people are contacted by eCas to update their status.
My employers have issued me with another 2 year contract, just waiting for conformation of the LMO. Should i send in my extended work visa application now with the LMO to follow so i can remain in Canada? Also my son is in school in his Grad year...i do not want to interupt his studies if i send in a student visa application can he still study here whilst they approve this application?
I am so very very scared that the time limit will mean i have to go back to the UK. This will totally destroy my son, whilst i could stay here on a visitor visa it would mean my son could not study and upset all his grad and college plans.
Thanks for any help....i am desparate

You could have applied outland through the UK, it's way faster. Anyway, yes, you should go with your LMO and new work permit because even if your inland application is fast, you will still not see your first stage approval and open work permit until March or so.

also adds....if i send off my work visa application without the LMO.....(sending at later date)...does that still give me an implied status??

Do i need to notify and get an extended SIN number and also notify medicare that i am on an implied intent extension???

So many questions and so little information......thanks for any help

You would have to call CIC or Service Canada and ask them.

Ecas is a Client Application Status on-line. You need to enter your information to get access to your data.
here is a link

Yes, CPC Vegreville will do this for your if you send them your extension app along with a copy of the LMO app and ask them to please hold the extension app in abeyance until a decision has been made on the LMO. It will give you implied status. As such, your son is still able to attend school. One word of caution, I would get this extension app into Vegreville ASAP. If the LMO is refused your WP will be denied and then you need to move quickly to be able to stay as a visitor. It may involve applying for restoration which must be done 90 days after the WP expires. Currently Vegreville is taking more than that much time to make decisions on files.

You might want to speak to a lawyer or a consultant to help you. Everything could go very smoothly for you or it could come down to the wire to get documents in. Good luck.
