I am separated for 6 years now and have no whereabouts about father for my daughter for last six years. my daughter is in India with my parents while I study in Australia. She holds an Indian passport. I want to apply for Canadian residency based on my education.. I don't think it is anyway possible for me to get consent from her father as he had abandoned my child and being too violent with us. We have no whereabouts for him and my parents are ailing now and nobody to look after my daughter.
For such a sceneraio where circumstances outside your control what should a single mother do to carry her child along with her through Canadian immigration

Have you legally obtained sole custody of your daughter?

The father never undertook responsibility and child was always staying with em or my parents so never required

You cannot immigrate to Canada without either permission of the father or court papers showing you've been awarded sole custody.
