Well, I am in Canada now. I crossed last week without any problem. I am still waiting for my PR as some of you know so I will be visting here til it is approved (hopefully!)

The POE officer didn't ask much questions besides where I am from, where I am going, why I am visiting and how long...and why my husband and I don't live together when we are already married!! I told him I am in PR process and he was perfectly okay with it and didn't ask anymore questions. I was very grateful that he shared the same thought on how we should be together and not living apart. I know some officers do not like when we try to cross the border to see our loved ones but not this officer.

I don't have a stamp on my passport but I have a receipt from the toll booth (to get into Canada)..it has the date, time, and location. I hope it will help me to prove the date of entry when I have to apply for the extention. I did not ask for VR. Please someone let me know if it's going to be okay to extend with just a receipt and a copy of my passport as a proof of entry.

congrats on making it!!! woohoo!

That's really great news that the let you enter Canada without much of a hassle.

I'm not sure that the receipt counts as a visitor record. I've never been through applying for an extention though so hopefully someone else can confirm.

Yes that is all you need. We did the same at Peace Arch in Vancouver and applied for an extension before the 6 months were up. They did call and ask for a scan of the stamp but we just re- explained (it was already in the application) that we came in by car and there was no stamp. They then gave us a 12 month extension!

Don't they scan your passport? There would be no stamp but they would have a record of you coming in. I know everytime I travel to the US they scan my passport, and also scan it by Canadian customs when I arrive home.

Congratulations on your safe and easy border crossing! Hope your app is approved quickly!

They do scan it, but I'm really not sure if they keep a record of that or not. They may just be scanning it to see if you're on some criminal record list or something.
