Hi all. I am a bit confused by this link that explains how CIC will decide on similarly ranked candidates when issuing ITAs. I have a CRS of 456. Does this mean that if the cutoff is 422, but there were many people with that score who signed up before me, that I will not get an ITA? I signed up yesterday. Say if there are 2000 ITAs issued next time, and the cutoff is 422, do I have a chance of getting picked? Do they prioritize scores or the time of signing up?

Scores. The only time the date/time of profile is used is if there are multiple candidates with the cut-off score.

So using your example, if the cutoff is 422, and your score is 422, then you might have to worry. But if your score is 456, then no worries.

  • If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles."

You don't have to worry. You have a pretty good score and you will get your ITA soon. Tie breaking rule applies to the cut-off score. Anyone above the cut-off score is safe.

It's only when several people have a score that matches the cut-off, IRCC decides who to invite based on time spent waiting in the pool (aka oldest to newest.)
