I am being sponsored by my common law partner.. Can I still apply for an IEC?

My partner applied to sponsor me (outland - London office) back in October. Can I apply for an IEC visa as a backup, or will this negatively affect our common law sponsorship application?

It's fine, I am currently on an iec visa and have sent in an Outland application for PR too.

Yes, you can have more than one application with CIC, one in each category (i.e. one family and one economical is OK but not 2 in either family or economical streams). You will have to choose later on, on which application your PR should be issued.
