1. You need a visa. So you will have to apply either on paper or on-line to Los Angeles. The instructions are here: http://can-am.gc.ca/visas/visit-visite.aspx?lang=eng
2. As a visitor to the US, with no ties, I don't think you will be successful, processing time is about 30 days.
3. If you get a TRV (visitor visa) Greyhound runs from Seattle to Vancouver, and there is also the train. There are a number of shuttle companies that make the run, quickshuttle.
