Hi to everyone, I’m a 18 years old guy who moved from Italy 2 years ago, I’m attending Canadian high school from grade 10 in B.C., my mother has a work permit, we are not P.R yet, so I’m confused how can I get P.R because I want to be a plumber, and get all the certificates/diplomas (what’s the difference?)
What will I have to do to get my study permit converted to being eligible to work in this field so I can make money and study at the same time.
Thank you in advance I’m very confused because I have been to a few immigration offices and all they want to do is rip off just to register me to a post secondary institution.

Right now there is really no way for you to get PR on your own. You're too young and don't have the required education, work experience, etc. However there could certainly be options several years from now once you have finished high school, obtained additional education (post high school) and have work experience.

Converting your study permit to a work permit right now is not realistic. To do this, you would have to start by finding an employer in Canada who is willing to give you a full time job. That employer would then have to get something called an approved LMIA. This is a long and expensive process for the employer. They have to start by advertising the job for a least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. The employer then has to pay a $1,000 fee and submit the LMIA application. Processing times for LMIA applications are around 4 months with no guarantee of approval. Given you have no work experience and given how many job losses there have been as a result of COVID-19, I don't think it's realistic to think that you'll find an employer who is willing to go through this process or that the LMIA will be approved.

My advice is to focus on finishing high school. Unfortunately there's really no way you'll be able to work while in high school. Once you have finished high school, you should plan to take another education program in Canada (diploma or degree) that is at least two years in length and is full time. Once you finish this program, you should qualify for a three year open work permit. This will give you the best chance of later qualifying for PR.

Good luck!

You'll be a dependent child of your mom until you are 21, so at least another 2+ years.
Your best bet is for your mom to apply to become a PR and have you included in her application as a dependent (which you'll be until you turn 22).

Since you've said your mom has a WP, I am assuming she'll eventually pursue her PR, will she not? Hopefully, for you, the answer will be yes. If it is no, however, as @scylla already indicated, it is a whole different story.
