I’ll renounce my Canadian PR—will I be banned from Canada?

I just received a scholarship for a masters program in the UK and it’s an opportunity I can’t refuse. However, I will have to renounce my Canadian PR as I will not meet the residency requirements.

I found a website that states Canadian PRs who renounce their status while living outside Canada will no longer have the right to enter Canada, however, this is not mentioned in IRCC’s website.

Does anyone know if I’ll be banned from Canada is i renounce my PR status from overseas?

You will not be banned from Canada if you renounce your PR status.

However you obviously won't be able to enter Canada as a PR. That's what is meant by the statement: "Canadian PRs who renounce their status while living outside Canada will no longer have the right to enter Canada".

If you want to enter Canada after renouncing your status, you'll need to get a TRV or eTA.
