Husband got PPR but Medicals is expiring soon (in November).....

Hi Guys!

So my husband (who is from the U.S) received his PPR last week and he has emailed them a scanned copy of his passort immediately after.

However, his medicals are expiring in November Is there any chance that he can receive his COPR by then? Or will they most likely extend his medical?

Does CIC ask for PPR if they know they will have to extend the medical?? We ahven't seen Desion made on our ecas yet either but he did get a new UCI number though

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Hi! From what I read in this forum it'll take 2 to 3 weeks before your husband receives his visa but that was before the strike. I'm not familiar with the current timelines or the 2 or 3 weeks still holds true to this date. Dont rely on Ecas as it is not current. Some people received their visas before Ecas changed from App. Received to DM (which is funny). Getting new UCI is ok because that's ur hubby's (principal applicant) UCI. The old UCI was your UCI (sponsor). That's perfectly fine and you're almost near the end of the process goodluck!

The VO usually asks for an extension on medicals without informing the applicant. So you will likely be in one of two situations:

1. They will issue his CoPR and ask him to land before his medical expires.
2. They will ask for an extension and issue the CoPR after that.

I think he will have to land before his medicals will expire. But you never know what CIC is up to
