Hello,

I wasn't invited yet, but I wonder how does it work to upload additional documents?
I've been doing everything by myself (student visa and PGWP), so I know how the CIC online system works, usually it has 1 single field to upload "Additional Documents". But now I believe I'll need to upload more things, for example Letter of Explanation about my a specific situation on my job contract, another for the proof of funds, etc..

Moreover, do we need to upload old passports and Birth Certificates? Because I had my last name changed and I'll have some old documents with my old last name, just want to avoid any misunderstanding. (The birth certificate is the main document that assure the old/new last name, so I believe it'll be important to have it uploaded).

Thank you all!

If you have a letter of explanation, combine all documents into a single file with the document that it is explaining (for example, employment documents). LOE for proof of funds goes under proof of funds.

Old passports not required. Name changes are not uncommon, esp. for married women. If that is the reason your name changed, all you need to do is provide the marriage certificate (which you would need to do anyway).

Wow, thank you so much for the quick response!
My question is if it is ok to mix different subjects into "additional documents".

No, my name was changed by judicial decision. That is why I want to avoid any misunderstanding.

If they do not require old passports, how do they know where I've been in the past ten years to request police clearance certificate?
Sorry the many questions! My deadline is tight and I want to get everything ready as much as I can...

I suppose, but it would be better to include them under the relevant sections (if applicable)

Then you MUST include a copy of the legal document granting the name change.

LOL, do you think your new passport is not linked to your old? Your electronic footprint easily covers the past 10 years... You have to self-report, and part of your security clearance will be verifying that self-report... Besides, visa-free travel often is not recorded in a passport, so it´s not really a good record.
