How up to date have the bank statements have to be

I just received NOI from Ontario and plan to submit my documents by this month end or beginning March. I have already got my bank statements. Would I need to take to take bank statements closer to the date of submission or would this do ?

I have read on the forum that some people have got the statements when they got the invite, while some got it closer to the time of submission (as you have 45 days to submit your application). I fall under the latter category.

If you feel that the statements that you have already obtained meets the requirement, then you are good to go. But, if you feel that, showing your February's salary will help you improve your amount of funds (or you are planning to get some funds from parents etc), then, you can wait closer to the time you will be submitting the application. What you need to take care is that, if there is any big sum which gets credited to your account to help you meet the fund requirement, you should be able to substantiate it with documentary evidence. What is important is OINP must be satisfied that funds are unencumbered and readily transferable in a convertible currency. You must be able to use this money to cover the costs of living for you and your dependent family members whether or not they are accompanying you to Ontario.
