hello guys,

I sponsored my Indian spouse, got sponsorship approval on June 22nd, then file was transferred to New Delhi. current status "application received". I am a Canadian citizen, married last year in india and registered in India, returned to Canada after just a month!!! Now things have gone terribly wrong in both the side (misunderstanding beyond explanation), we both are not happy and broken!! my current spouse also thinks it is better to stop right now than to continue to the future!! hence, i am wondering, what is the procedure to withdraw my application?? to whom, where, how am i suppose to inform this decision??? do i only have to send or my spouse too?? what will be the aftermath of withdrawal??

I request to hear the suggestion from experienced members. I thank a lot for your inputs.
God bless all!

You may request a withdrawal via email, snail mail or fax. You must also notify your visa office. Here are the instructions: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=732&t=14

When we withdrew our inland application we sent in a formal letter with our signatures, so I suggest writing a brief letter requesting the withdrawal and sign it, and send it via one of the allowed methods. If you send it via snail mail make sure to get tracking on it.

Thanks alot for your input. My another curious question, will i be able to start another sponsorship application if i married abroad??? I guess, i want to be genuine to CIC, not doing any dirty business..definitely i cant live myself here without the right partner.

Please and Thanks for for your suggestion!!!

Sure, you can start as many as you would like. Chances of them to be approved are very little though as the nature of your abroad marriages would look more than odd to CIC.
If i may suggest, why don't you look for a partner in Canada? I think it might get easier for you and everyone else here who would love to see CIC less overloaded with "genuine" applications.

People from India are one of the largest ethnic groups in Canada. Depending on where you're living, it shouldn't be hard at all to find someone from that kind of background. At least after this first failed sponsorship, you can perhaps look to meeting people with Indian background living in Canada. That way you can find someone compatible with you, but also you will know 100% they aren't marrying you for PR status because they are a permanent resident themselves or a citizen. And lastly, since you guys are living in the same area, you won't have the stress of having to leave your spouse abroad and communicating long distance while waiting for your application to be processed.

Aside from that, yes you shouldn't have problems sponsoring again except that your application may face a bit of scrutiny since you've attempted a sponsorship before

Thanks alot for your suggestions, especially many thanks for mikeymyke for your friendly advice and positive word.

Yes, as you guys suggest, my preference is to find a right one inside canada..Although, i really wanted to retain my option too. I also learned some lessons from my marriage and definitely not gonna allow that to happen again!!

God bless all!!
