How to sponsor my gf

Hi guys

I wanted to ask that recently I got divorced from my wife and now I wish to sponsor my girlfriend from India.is there possibility of my girlfriend not getting visa, what supportive evidence do I need to submit to cic so that my girlfriend can come soon to Canada
I heard from my friends that cic process is getting tougher and tougher

Please suggest, we want to apply fr sponsorship in sept 2013

Sponsorship is only for married couples or those who are common-law. to be common-law you need to prove that you co-habited as a couple (joint accounts, joint bills, joint lease, etc.) for at least 1 year. which of these two (married, or common-law) would you be able to prove? that is the biggest and most important question.

Good =). Well you can only start the sponsorship process after the wedding.

But don't rely ONLY on the above only though. Read your regional guide and in particular pay attention to point 5, which mentions that you need to include photos of a traditional wedding ritual, wedding reception, and post wedding photographs.

Yep, sent my application in Jan 2013. Getting pretty anxious as I haven't heard from the CIC about receipt of my application... ???

They've updated their website to Feb 5th. You should be able to call now.

Yup did that last week...even contacted my MP!
