How to show status with messages

I notice that most posters have a flag icon and a listing of dates for various stages of the process showing to the left of their messages.
Example: Posts: 55 Ratings: +15 Category........: FAM Visa Office......: Ottawa
App. Filed.......: 05-03-2015 AOR Received.: 15-05-2015 SA Received: 20-05-2015
Med's Done....: 25-01-2015 Interview........: Waived Passport Req..: N/A
VISA ISSUED...: LANDED..........:

I don't see where/how this information is supposed to be added to my profile.

you have to have a certain number of posts on the forum before that part of your profile opens up for you.. i may be wrong, but i think it's 10 posts.. as far as i'm concerned, you should be fine just making a few posts on this message

once you have enough posts, you will see a link in the left-hand column of your profile page that says 'Forum Profile Information'.. click that link and you'll see all the boxes you can fill out with your info

I was also not allowed to include a URL in a post.
Will this ability also be enabled at the same time?
I've seen others including links...

yes, the footnote part opens up at the same time, and you can include URLs (or timeline tickers like mine) in it. drop a few more posts in here and you'll be good to go like i said, i'm not certain the exact number necessary, but 10 rings a bell to me.

Aha. Sure enough, I am now a member and am able to put my dates on the left.

I am amazed at the post counts of some of the members here. I saw one person with ~45,000, they're posting several times a day for years.
