How to show accommodation?

On arrival in Canada i have to show my accommodation to immigration officer.
I have plans to go there and then find an apartment on rent.
Can I show hotel bookings for temporary stay?
Or I have to book apartment from here which I don't want to do as I have to check out the place before

That is correct... you can book a hotel accommodation to show the VO at entry...

you can book by yourself once you get out from the airport

VO will not ask you about your accommodation so don't waste your money in hotel reservations.

Firstly, he/she won't ask you about you accommodation but still if you think that he/she can ask, you can simple answer the question by telling them that "I am going straight to the university/college. I have informed International Student Department and will arrange me the temporary accommodation On-Campus." That's it. You won't feel any difficulty at all.
