Hi,

My file was transferred to Seattle 3 months ago (May17,2011) and I have not heard anything from them since then. Should I send them an email to request my status or should I wait a month longer?

Also, is there any specific format or information I need to follow for the request. Thanks.

ben8286,

Do you know your file number, if you do you can check your status at CIC website.

regards

I have my file number. But now it is in Seattle. Will my status still reflect on CIC website?

of course yes..

But I have not heard anything from Seattle and my eCIC status is remained the same (in process), and I want to email Seattle office to see if there is any problem with my application. Can I do that?

hi, your e-cas will will be "in process" until after your medical. when they sent you an email about transferring your files to seattle, did they mention about " not to request for status within 90 days"? if 90 days has elapsed, you can email them and request for your status. for me, it took almost 4 months for me to receive a letter from the date for transfer.

e-CAS may still be "in process" even after that. I got my PPR and e-CAS still just says "In Process".

The only way to get the full status of your file is to order CAIPS notes. Qorax has a post about it on this site; should be easy to find. CAIPS notes give you the play-by-play on everything that's happening with your file. I strongly recommend ordering them if your file seems stuck. The VOs (and the postal service) can screw up and not send you notices. (My CAIPS said they sent me an RCMP fingerprint request in March; I only got the second request that they sent in May.) It takes about 5 weeks to get CAIPS notes, so you should also inquire with the VO.

Yes . It mentioned about " not to request for status within 90 days", and it is 3.5 months . So what should I say in the inquiry email? I am just curious. When did u receive the letter from the VO. Maybe I should wait a bit longer before emailing them.

Thanks.

april 5th was the 3rd month since transfer. and i received the medical request on july 29, but the letter was dated july 20. i think you should be getting a reply very soon. just wait til the end of the week and you can request for your status monday next week.
