Good afternoon,
Can someone please guide me in the right direction as I would like to know what is the best course of action to take. My wife and I were married in December and I have returned to my country which is in the Caribbean, my wife is a Canadian by birth and I wish to join her soon but would like to know how to go about it.

1. Should we start the application process outside of Canada or can I join her and then apply.
2. Will we be able to apply for a work-permit while I am there.
3. Should we wait until we receive the marriage certificate and then apply.
4. She has had a number of jobs over a period of time but now has a full time one with a good pay, she has been there for the last six months.
5. What are the requirements for her to be a sponsor .

She can sponsor you either outland or inland. For an inland application, you would have to be in Canada living with her, and stay there until the application is finished, so if you need a visa to enter Canada, you would first have to apply for a TRV. If you do not need a TRV, you can enter Canada as a visitor.
For an outland application, you can either be outside of Canada or inside as a visitor.
For the inland application, you can also apply for an open work permit, which you will get about 4 months after you apply.
You will need the marriage certificate.
She doesn't need to have a certain income, so it doesn't matter what job she has. She cannot be an undischarged bankrupt or be on welfare.

Thank you so much :).
where can I get the forms to apply. is there a form for in land and another for outland.

Thanks
