How to inform CIC to stop child benefit during temporary absence of child from Canada?

I and my family are permanent residents of Canada. We went back to India for a vacation. Now due to Covid pandemic, I and my wife only travelled back to Canada. We did not bring our daughter back with us and kept her with her grandparents in India to avoid the risk of travel during Covid pandemic. We are planning to bring her back in the next 3-4 months. Now as per the guideline we are not eligible to receive child benefit if the child is not staying with us. So how can I apply to stop receiving child benefit during this period?

Child benefit is distributed by the CRA. You will need to call their contact centre and let them know.

Best to call and explain the whole situation. When all 3 of you left Canada, how long you've been out of Canada this year, what ties do you have to Canada, etc.
