How to go about notifying immigration of marital status change

Hi there. My common law spouse and I are waiting on his AIP and in the meantime have gotten married. What steps do we take now to let immigration know our status has changed from common law to married?

I would send your marriage certificate to the visa office currently handling your application along with a cover letter. I would also include any additional proof of relationship evidence related to the wedding (e.g. photos, invites, program, bills, reception details, etc.).
