I am wondering how exactly do you get a "Certified True Copy" I have papers I need to copy & also translate. I have read so many different things online. Do I photocopy the original then translate them or do I translate then photocopy? I also read you have to stamp at foreign affairs all papers being translated first because the stamp is not English? then translate it and bring it back to foreign affairs? I am so frustrated reading different stories of what to do. I live in Egypt, if anyone has any information please help! Thanks!

My experience (both in business and CIC) requires that certified true. iPods are done by someone who is "certified" to do the translation and a notary that can stamp and sign off on the certification. In most cases I have dealt with lawyers offices familiar with the local language and English/French to do the translation. The other choice is a reputable translation service that can do certified translations. Be careful of them though, as my experience has been that their translators often don't know the nuances of the language (that's google translate for you) and you end up with a botched translation. You can't do the translations yourself.
