Hi Everyone!
My sisters just entered Canada with her Family yesterday for the first time to activate her permanent residence, she will be returning to our home country (Venezuela) in a week to prepare all her affairs and will be coming back later this year to establish here. She explained this to the customs officer and had her list of assets (I believe it is technically called goods to follow) ready but the officer told her she had to go to another place later to do this and gave her a piece of paper where he wrote a phone number and an address:
6500 Silver Dart Road
284-804-1489
The number seems to be disconnected, I checked online and 284 is the area code for Virgin Islands. I work close to that address so I drove there and its a shipping complex right next to the airport with offices from a bunch of shipping companies (UPS, Fedex, Canad Post, etc.) but I could not find anything related to Canada Customs there...
What the heck? did that guy gave my sister bad information? was he just trying to get rid of her or not process her list?
What should she do now, is there any way she can submit her list after landing so these items don't get taxed when they actually enter Canada?
Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance guys!
