Hi All,
Need a little help/advice with how to log work experience as a Freelancer who's work experience was all fixed-term contracts?
I have 2+ years work experience in level A and B jobs but I don't think the Express Entry Profile is registering them as this experience was across multiple contracts with and not 2 continuous years. My experience is in TV production which in the U.K. is most commonly contract work (fixed-term contracts). This means you are employed for a set period of time for a particular show you are working on but are employed as an employee - not self-employed. Of course naturally when moving from contract to contract there are periods of time where you aren't contracted, so I am wondering whether my application is being rejected as the profile isn't detecting "1 or 2 continous years"? I am able to prove all my work experience and have started getting reference letters and once calculated I have well over 2 years experience in hours, (based a maximum of 30 hours a week) but thought perhaps as there are gaps between some jobs it wouldn't register as continuous work? I would say I worked full-time continously for 3 years, but as I had gaps of upto 3 weeks between contracts at times I thought it would perhaps calculate it as part-time across 4 years?
Anyone with advice would be a hero!
Thanks
Emma
