Hello all,

I have been working as a supply (substitute) teacher for the last two years. For the first year, some weeks, I get 1 day of work, others up to 5 full days of work. Since September, I've been working every day as a long term occasional teacher (it's not considered a permanent position, but I'm filling in for someone on leave). I'm wondering how to calculate the number of hours or days worked so that I know when I can start to apply for my PR. I am finding various information. Some say that it is counted by hours, others say that it is counted by weeks. How would I count it in my case, where for one year, it varied week to week, and this new school year, it has been consistent?

Thanks

Hi, I'm wondering the same thing... Hopefully, you have already resolved your question!
I'm a sub teacher as well and our school district states that every 170 = 1.0 FTE. I'm unsure if I can count 170 work days as one year of experience for EE application. Moreover, the district also said 1.0 days of work = 9.0 hours for all the teachers and sub teachers since we have summer breaks. This means I don't have work in the summer time and over-worked in the academic year.

I'm wondering if the express entry will take this since IRCC said 1.0 year of work is equal to 30 hr/day for 52 weeks. Please let me know how you resolve this if you are in a similar case. Thank you so much!!!
