How to bring my wife to Canada (newly married)

Hi Expert,

I am a citizen of India and currently in Canada with a close work permit which is valid till May'2015.

I am going to marry in couple of weeks in India. After marriage I want to bring my wife to Canada to stay with me.

Can anyone guide me the options I have to file a dependent visa for my wife?

If you have a skilled job here in Canada, your spouse can apply for open work permit in India(the validity of her work permit will be the same as your work permit). Make sure that your work permit is still valid for at least 1 year at the time of application.

The other option is to apply for visitor visa. However, the approval chances of work permit are more as compared to visit visa.
