how to break a sub lease?

hello fellow canadians
I live in manitoba
I am living in a rented apartment with one other person
My name is on lease. But I want to move to another town because I got a job there. But my roommate does not agree with me to remove my name from lease. The owner needs his signature if I want to remove my name from lease. What can I do? Lease is till November.

What you have is actually a lease and not a sub lease.

Normally the only way to handle this is to find someone who is willing to sub lease from you (i.e. take over your part of the lease).

this is the problem. no one wants to have lease on his/her name. my roommate is kind of a old person. so i have no one who wants to live with him.
