Hi guys. After one year of cohabiting, should i need to update my family composition to CIC as soon as we reached the 1 year cobahiting each other To be considered legal common law?

What if were not still finish our one year cohabitation, can we choose our status of common Law in diffent paper documents like tax forms, bank application form, etc. instead of choosing Were single?

up! please help guys :/

Common law is not a choice. After 12 months of cohabitation and not a day less, only then are you legally common-law whether you want to be or not. After 12 months cohabitation you must declare your common-law status on any forms that ask for immigration or taxes.
