Hi there,

I have recently received the letter from the Canadian Immigration Office in London asking for passports for myself and for my family, for getting the entry visa stamped.

Now i have one question. I plan to travel to Canada (for the first time) in November. Once there, how can i later call my mother over there i.e. what are the necessary steps and the conditions under which i can call my mother.

Kindly tell me from visit visa as well as from permanent residence visa point of view. Let me know if there are any conditions which i need to fulfill before i can be eligible to apply for her. I also heard something of a super visa recently (for parents & grandparents). Kindly let me know about this as well.

Your reply would help me out really and i would always be thankful to you for this.

Kind regards,
Worried Son

You cannot sponsor your mother for permanent residency. CIC is currently not accepting applications for the parent/grandparent sponsorship class. It's expected that CIC will start accepting applications again late next year.

Your best bet is likely the super visa which will allow your mother to visit as a tourist for longer periods of time than a regular tourist visa. More information is available here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp

In order to qualify to apply for the super visa, you must be making sufficient income as outlined here:

Your mother must also pass a medical and must purchase health insurance to cover her while she visits here.
