Hi,

Sorry if this question is already asked.

I have a canada PR and my wife does too. It has been 1 year since visa stamping, and we made our first entry in june 2015. However, due to family reasons we have not yet moved to canada, and now we have a new born child. I want to know what is the process of adding my child to my existing PR, and then finally move with my wife and canada.

Is it a long process, and what are the recommendations? I want to take my spouse and child along with me next year march, if this process takes long, can i take child on a dependant / tourist visa as my spouse already has a PR card.

please advice.

thanks

As PRs, one of you will need to move to Canada in order to submit an app to sponsor your child for PR, and must remain living in Canada during entire process (up to 1 year). Short/temporary vacations outside Canada are allowed.

You can certainly try applying for a TRV or TRP to have the child stay in Canada as a visitor while app is being processed, but no guarantee it will be approved.

If child can't get a TRV/TRP, then 1 parent will need to live in Canada to sponsor while other parent + child remains in India.
