How soon should you order CAIPS notes?

Should you order CAIPS once you submit your application?
once your file has been transferred to the Buffalo (oversees) office?
after a certain amount of time has passed, i.e. 6 months?

I don't want to order it too soon and very little information is added, but don't want to wait too long and wish I had ordered it before?

Unless there is some major issue or delay, there doesn't seem to be much point in ordering the notes.

The best time is just before the interview, but you may not be informed of the interview in time to get them. So try to guess - take the average time for your visa office, and just before this time, order the notes.
If you order before the visa officer has had a chance to read over the file, nothing will be there except what you sent in. Basically, you want to know why the visa officer wants an interview, so you need to get the notes after he or she has read the file, which takes a while after it has been received in the embassy.
