Hi,

I am on a spousal open work permit as my wife is an international student. My wife is currently in Canada with me on a study permit.

I wanted to apply for express entry. Currently my score is 456 with my wife accompanying me. However I was thinking if I apply without my wife my score boost up to 462. The reason I want to apply as soon as possible without my wife is because I want to start schooling in January. Moreover, my wife when she graduates in December she will be getting a post graduate work permit and wanted to apply for permeant residence on her basis after completing her wok experience.

Is it possible to do so? Will it become a problem as I am on a spousal work permit but I am applying without my wife.

Thank you very much in advance.

It is no problem, you can apply for PR with your wife as non-accompannying, this is something that can certainly be done. You can then sponsor her or she can apply for PR herself.

Additionally, with 462 you are close but still below the CRS for the last several draws but certainly closer than 456 so it might be worth trying this.

Hi sorry to jump straight in , what would we say to the officer why we haven't included them in it.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I was just concerned will they be asking me that why I am not including my wife as the sole reason I am in canada is due to my wife's status.
Thank you very much and stay safe.

Are you going to do this.

I am thinking. As my wife will go ahead and get her pgwp and wants to apply her pr by herself as independent. Secondly, I have to start studying as soon as possible.
I'm.so scared my husband wont get pr I dont know why I feel like this

You need to be honest with IRCC. You are doing it for the points. Saying anything else would be lying and they could easily guess it.

Also, with the pandemic, all processing is delayed, so even if CRS scores do come down within the next few months to 462 and you get an ITA, there is basically no chance that your app would be done by January.

Thank you for your reply. I will be completely transparent with IRCC as the sole reason to apply without my wife is for more points, as for mybwife she has her own process of getting pgwp and applying on her basis. I on the other hand want to resume studies. This is the whole reason of applying. I can even include that I wont be sponsoring her in the near future.
I'm just afraid can they reject it on the basis that I am in canada because if my wifes status.

Thanks for the reply stay safe.
