How much time it takes to get correspondence from CIC

Hi,

We submitted our initial application to CIC on May 7th 2009 thru Priority mail. How much time it takes to get correspondence from CIC. How do we know that they received our application. I tried to track online from the website www.cic.gc.ca. But its asking identification# or receipt # etc... we dont have any such number. Is there a way to track? Do we get any acknowledgment from CIC that they received the application. if yes, in how many days. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

you will get a receipt from Sydney with their evaluation result. How long that takes may depend on where you live.
