A friend of mine is using an immigration consultant for New Brunswick PNP. The consultant was quite cooperative and transparent in the beginning but is stalling now. They guided my friend through the process of ECA, IELTS, and applied to New Brunswick PNP on his behalf. Then, they told my friend he had received nomination and then my friend paid the fee ($250) on a PC in the consultant's office (they logged into an account and opened the fee payment portal, and he entered his credit card details). They also showed him the nomination and everything seemed to be in order.
Now the issue is that the consultant is stalling on the Express Entry profile process. First they said that they will not share the EE profile credentials (username/password) with my friend until the process is complete. Now, they are saying that receiving ITA from Express Entry process will take 6-7 months.
My question is, why would ITA take so much time? If my friend has been nominated, he should have 600 points added to his EE profile, and by the next draw he should receive an ITA. Is there some genuine reason that receiving an ITA could take that much time? I understand that once EE profile is created, the province has to validate the applicant on the EE website and confirm the nomination. Can this process or some other thing take 6-7 months?
