I lived in a pretty remote country and they don't have any online process for getting a PCC. I never stayed more than 6 months but had a few short trips. I am curious about how frequently they ask for pcc when duration of stay is less than 6 months? (post 2018 applications)
How many of you were asked for PCC for country where you resided less than 6 months?

Not sure about frequency, but I knew a friend who made frequent short buisness trips to the US, and was requested a US police certificate because his trips added up to be over 180 days. If your stay adds up to less than 180 days, maybe don't sweat about it too much. Worst case scenario IRCC requests a police certificate and your application gets delayed by however long you need to get your pcc.
