How many months bank statements? 4? 6? As much as possible?

Hello All,

I'm an international student in the US applying for a TRV to Canada. I recently generated my checklist and it asks for 4 months bank statements. In fact, the wording in the checklist suggests that if bank statements are unavailable, payslips and employment letters, etc. would suffice.

However, from scouring this forum I see people mention anything from 3 months worth to 12 months worth! Is there a definitive answer regarding this?

Though there is not any mentioned time duration to show the pay stubs but what i have read on various forums here is 3 months is the best answer to your question.
