Once you have PR, you must live in Canada two out of every five rolling years to maintain your PR status. It doesn't matter how you obtained PR - the rules are the same.
Actually, the government has tabled some pretty significant changes to this legislation. Be very careful. If you return to your home country, you may lose your PR status because if you can live there, why would you be considered a refuguee?
